Who we are
Choose My Trip is an online travel booking service operated by Wondersafar Pvt. Ltd., India. We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at support@choosemytrip.in or +91 9574274273.
What we collect
Only what you give us, or what using the service creates:
- Your account: name, email address, mobile number and password (stored only as a one-way hash). If you add them on your profile: a profile picture link, date of birth, gender, nationality and passport details, and lounge memberships (the programme, tier, last four digits of the card and its validity).
- Travellers: for each person on a booking, and for travellers you save to your profile, the name, date of birth, gender and nationality, and — where the airline needs them — passport number, expiry and issuing country, or a student ID.
- Bookings: the trips you search for and book, the contact email and phone for each booking, and GST details (GSTIN, company name, address and business email) if you ask for a GST invoice.
- Payments: card, UPI and net-banking details are entered on our payment gateway's page, never on ours. We receive and keep the payment reference, the amount, and the method — the UPI ID, the card's last four digits, or the bank's name. We never see or store full card numbers, CVVs or UPI PINs.
- Wallet and referrals: your wallet balance and its transactions, your referral code, and who referred you.
- Support: the requests you raise, our replies, and any files you attach (photos and PDFs).
- Enquiries: the name, email, phone and message you send through an enquiry or call-back form, the page you sent it from and any campaign tags in its address, a visit identifier, and — when you give consent — your IP address as a record of it.
- Technical data: your IP address and browser or device type when you sign in, and a record of searches left unfinished on the website, with a visit identifier, so we can count them and, if you are signed in, help you finish the booking. In the app, your device's notification token, platform and when the app was last opened, to send notifications, and whether you tapped an offer notification.
The app, location and notifications
Location is used to suggest the airport nearest you. The app asks for it when you open a new flight search with no departure airport set, or tap to use your nearest airport; the website asks when you choose the nearest-airport or current-location option. One reading is sent to our servers to look up nearby airports or hotels, and it is not stored there. You can refuse and type the airport instead.
It asks to send notifications for booking updates, reminders and occasional offers. You can turn them off at any time in your phone's settings.
The app opens your phone's camera or gallery only when you choose to attach a file to a support request. It has no advertising and no analytics or tracking libraries, and it blocks screenshots and recent-apps previews on the flight review and payment screens.
Scanning an ID to fill in traveller details
Where offered, you can photograph a passport or Aadhaar card to fill in a traveller's name, date of birth and passport details instead of typing them. The photo is resized and its location data removed on your device, then sent to our text-recognition provider, Groq, to read the fields. The photo is not saved — not on our servers and not in our logs — and we do not take an Aadhaar number or address from it.
How we use it
- To make, ticket, change, cancel and refund the bookings you ask for.
- To issue invoices, e-tickets and credit notes, and meet our tax and legal duties.
- To run your account: sign-in, one-time codes, password resets, your wallet and referrals.
- To answer your support requests and enquiries.
- To send you booking updates and, where you have allowed notifications, reminders and offers.
- To keep the service secure and prevent fraud and misuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
How long we keep it
Your account details are kept while your account is open. Bookings, invoices, credit notes, payments and refunds are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires us to keep them, even after an account is deleted. Records of what we sent to and received from our flight supplier and payment gateway are deleted after 90 days, and prices you looked at but did not book after 30 days.
Support requests and enquiries are kept so we can answer later questions about the same trip.
Deleting your account
To delete your Choose My Trip account, email support@choosemytrip.in from the email address on the account, with the subject "Delete my account". You can also call us on +91 9574274273. We confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days.
Deleting an account anonymises it:
- Your name, email address and mobile number are replaced, your date of birth, gender, nationality, passport details and profile picture are cleared, you are signed out everywhere, and the account can no longer be signed into.
- Your saved travellers and saved lounge memberships are deleted.
- Bookings, invoices, payments and refunds are kept, including the traveller details on them, because the law requires us to keep them. So are support requests, notification history and app notification registrations, sign-in history, wallet and referral records, and our staff's record of changes made to the account, which can include its earlier name, email and phone number.
- Money in your wallet — available or held — has to be used or refunded first, and a refund on its way to your wallet has to arrive or be sent to your bank instead.
You can remove saved travellers yourself at any time from your profile, without deleting the account.
How we protect it
The website and app talk to our servers only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, sign-in sessions expire and are renewed securely, and staff access is limited by role, with changes recorded. Full card numbers, CVVs and UPI PINs are handled by the payment gateway, never by us. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affected your information, we would tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Your rights
You can see and correct your account details and saved travellers on your profile at any time. You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, withdraw a permission you gave, or ask us to delete your account as described above. Write to support@choosemytrip.in; we answer within 30 days.
Children
An account is for adults aged 18 or over. A parent or guardian can book for children and give their details as travellers. We use those details for the booking, and keep them as saved travellers only if the account holder chooses to remember them — until they are removed or the account is deleted.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters to how we use your information, we will tell you by email or in the app before it applies.
